Who Is Your One?
This past Sunday was our 21st anniversary celebration, and can I say that I was humbled by the event.
I was humbled by the way our servants worked so hard to make this a special event for everyone. Many of them didn’t even get to experience the service because they were serving the people.
I was humbled by the turnout, how so many people came to celebrate with us all that God has done.
And finally, I was humbled by the testimonies of the people whose lives have been changed forever.
This morning as I was reflecting on the service, I was reminded of one of our core values:
We value every “ONE”
We never lose the significance of “ONE.” One more person in Heaven; One more person healed; One more life renewed.
Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. (Luke 15:10)
That verse is the close of a parable that Jesus gave a few verses earlier:
“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!” – Luke 15:3-7
This passage describes our heart as a church. Yes we want to reach the masses, but in reality lives are changed one life at a time.
One person we pray for.
One person we invite to church.
One person we share the gospel with.
One person we disciple.
One person we help to discover their God-given gifts, and put them to use in the Kingdom.
One more life changed.
Consider this as you go into your week. Personalize it.
Who is your “one?”
We can change the world, one life at a time…
