Reason #2 Why Jesus Was Born: To Reveal The Glory Of God
As we lead up to Christmas service, Hope Arrives, we’re going to look at seven reason’s why Jesus had to be born.
Reason #2 Jesus was born to reveal the glory of God
Often we wonder “why did God let Adam and Eve sin in the garden? Why didn’t He stop them?” We can say that God gave man free will, but it still doesn’t seem to connect why a holy God would allow His creation to fall.
Until we recognize God’s sovereignty.
Yes, God could have blocked Adam and Eve from sinning, the same as He could block you and I from sinning. But what would that prove? That an all-powerful God can control man?
See, God knew man would sin. He knew man would fall. He knew that death would enter the human race…
But God also knew that He would show the vast depth of His love and grace by extending to fallen man a way to be brought back from the pit of hell.
God’s character is revealed and glorified in the midst of His making eternal life available to fallen man.
to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. – Colossians 1:27
This is such a mystery that angels don’t even fully understand it (1 Peter 1:12), yet God has given us this great blessing through His Son Jesus Christ.
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
– John 1:14
So when we celebrate Christmas, let’s remember to acknowledge the greatness of God, revealed to us by the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
We can change the world, one life at a time…
