There are 2 foundational kingdoms in this world, the Kingdom of God, which is eternal, whose ruler is Almighty God. And then there is the Kingdom of the World, which is temporal, whose ruler is Satan. They are not equal kingdoms, because God is Creator and Almighty God without limits, and Satan is a created being, a fallen angel with limits.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12
“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O LORD, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. “Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.
2 Corinthians 4:4
Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
We all must choose what kingdom we will serve. What we choose determines how we live on this earth and our eternal destiny. These two kingdoms oppose one another.
Kingdom of the World
- A natural worldview – with no God or Creator
- God rejecting and self-reliant
Envy, pride, ambition, war, relative morality
- Making a name for ourselves
- Humanity tainted by sin with no forgiveness
- It’s final fall will occur at the end of history
- All who do not believe and receive Jesus Christ
as Savior and King, serves the master of this
world, Satan, and will spend eternity with him.
Kingdom of God
- A supernatural worldview with Creator God
- God’s representatives, dependent upon God
- Meekness, good deeds, peacemaking, God-based
- Making a name for God, and then He makes your
- Redeemed from the old nature, by the blood of
Christ with forgiveness of all sin
- It’s final destiny is God and His people will
rule and reign 1000 years in kingdom
of heaven on new earth, and then
in heaven eternally
- All who believe and receive that Jesus
is Savior and King will worship and serve Jesus
as Master and will spend eternity with Him.
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
The greatest freedom offered to a Christ Follower is the freedom to choose whom we serve.
“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
Your thoughts become your words,
Your words become your actions,
Your actions become your habits,
Your habits become your values,
Your values become your destiny.”― Mahatma Gandhi
This quote is still true today, and although Gandhi is credited with it, it is a biblical principle stated throughout the scriptures. Beliefs determine actions. Actions determine destiny. Let’s choose wisely.
