Holy Spirit, lead me today – Luke 2:27
Reading plan for this week: Luke 2:22-40
And he came in the Spirit into the temple (Luke 2:27)
In Luke chapter 2 we read how Simeon, a devout man, had been waiting for the arrival of the Messiah. And on the exact day that Joseph and Mary brought Jesus to the temple for his dedication, the Holy Spirit led Simeon to the temple.
This poses a question: Am I tuned into the Holy Spirit at that level?
Some Christians think they have to be a “super spiritual saint” in order to be led by the Holy Spirit as Simeon was. But the reality is that the Holy Spirit is available to us every moment of every day, to lead us in the direction that God would have us to go.
Whether it’s being at the temple at the precise moment that the Messiah’s going to be dedicated, or being at the right place at the right time to be able to speak life into a friends situation, the Holy Spirit is available to all Christians all the time. We simply need to be open to His leading in our life.
“Holy Spirit, I surrender my day to you, guide my in the path that you would have for me today.”
We can change the world, one life at a time…
