In today’s society, the idea of a God who conquers and defeats His enemies is considered to be something of the past. “That’s Old Testament God” people might say. Our culture, the church included, tends to lean much farther to the side of the loving, humble Jesus. Do not mistake what I am saying. I […]
About Pastor Clay Ritter
Hi! My name is Clay Ritter, and I am the Sr Pastor of Calvary Chapel of Wilmington, located in Wilmington, NC. We are known as “the church that teaches through the bible” because of our emphasis on teaching verse-by-verse through the bible. I don’t like to brag, but I think our church is awesome! We have a fantastic worship team, bible teaching that is relevant to our lives today, and a super group of people who love God and each other. We are excited about sharing the love of God to everyone we meet!
I have an incredible wife, Tammy, who has been my life partner for over twenty years, and who is also an exceptional bible teacher and leader of our women’s ministry. I also have four fantastic kids: Carmen, Chelsea, Chandler, and Carrington (yes, they all start with “C”. Don’t ask me why).
I worked for twenty years in the telecommunications industry before going into the ministry. It wasn’t a career choice: God called us from our life in Cary, NC, and transported us to Wilmington in a supernatural way! We moved here in 2001 to minister to the people of Wilmington through Calvary Chapel. Since that time God has proven Himself to be faithful in so many ways, meeting all of our needs over and above what we could ever think or imagine! We have made some terrific friends, and we have witnessed God perform miracle after miracle, saving the lost and rebuilding broken lives.
I hope you’ll stop by our church and meet us. Whether you choose to worship with us, or one of the other fine churches in the Wilmington area, I pray the Lord will bless you and shine His face upon you.
…till the whole world hears,
In the fourth chapter of John, Jesus is conversing with the Samaritan woman, and in verse 23, Jesus tells her, “But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship Him.” This brings up a […]
On Sunday night at THE FOUNDRY, we talked about the triumphal entry of Christ into Jerusalem, which took place only five days before He would die on the cross to save us from our sins. He rode into Jerusalem riding on a donkey. Back then, when kings were proclaiming peace, they entered towns on donkeys. […]
Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.” The phrase “the fear of the Lord” can sound really negative, almost like “you’d better watch out for God, because He’s coming for you.” However, it is important that we remember that this fear […]
I would like to encourage you all to continue to read your Bible’s daily. Reading God’s Word will bring you into a closer relationship with your Savior JESUS CHRIST. A “relationship” is key! If you don’t know anything about your friend …are you friends? “For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than […]
1 Chronicles 16:11 “See the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually.” Last night in youth group, we talked about Psalms 4. David was fleeing the kingdom that GOD gave him to avoid being killed by his own son. David is in one of the worst possible situations that we could imagine. His own […]
