In the song, “Burning Ones” by Jesus Culture, there is a line that has stuck out to me since the first time I heard the song. “let our passion bring You fame.” When I think about it, Christians are the people who have the most reason in the whole world to be passionate. We have […]
About Pastor Clay Ritter
Hi! My name is Clay Ritter, and I am the Sr Pastor of Calvary Chapel of Wilmington, located in Wilmington, NC. We are known as “the church that teaches through the bible” because of our emphasis on teaching verse-by-verse through the bible. I don’t like to brag, but I think our church is awesome! We have a fantastic worship team, bible teaching that is relevant to our lives today, and a super group of people who love God and each other. We are excited about sharing the love of God to everyone we meet!
I have an incredible wife, Tammy, who has been my life partner for over twenty years, and who is also an exceptional bible teacher and leader of our women’s ministry. I also have four fantastic kids: Carmen, Chelsea, Chandler, and Carrington (yes, they all start with “C”. Don’t ask me why).
I worked for twenty years in the telecommunications industry before going into the ministry. It wasn’t a career choice: God called us from our life in Cary, NC, and transported us to Wilmington in a supernatural way! We moved here in 2001 to minister to the people of Wilmington through Calvary Chapel. Since that time God has proven Himself to be faithful in so many ways, meeting all of our needs over and above what we could ever think or imagine! We have made some terrific friends, and we have witnessed God perform miracle after miracle, saving the lost and rebuilding broken lives.
I hope you’ll stop by our church and meet us. Whether you choose to worship with us, or one of the other fine churches in the Wilmington area, I pray the Lord will bless you and shine His face upon you.
…till the whole world hears,
Two years ago I was about to start my final semester of college. I can remember watching everyone get jobs lined up, and before I was even moved in, it seemed like everyone knew what they were doing. I however, didn’t. I had a few cheesy sounding answers to what I was going to do […]
My verse for the year is Ephesians 3:20. It says, “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” I love this verse. I actually put it on my wall in my office, to remind me. I like this […]
Have you ever heard a guitar that is super out of tune? Nobody likes that sound. It clashes with itself. I think one reason that it bugs us is because we expect the guitar to sound good. We expect it to produce a melody that is sweet to our ears. In a way, our hearts […]
During the course of this week a friend of mine lost her grandmother. She and I talked after she found out and she told me about her grandmother. This woman had been a Christian, and I was so blessed to hear about her life. My friend had such positive things to say, and remembered her […]
The time of year has come around again, and to be honest, it’s come up much more suddenly than other years. We are all busy in the hustle and bustle of day to day life, and all of a sudden Christmas is less than three weeks away. Being busy isn’t bad, but I think it […]
