1st Samuel

The books of 1st & 2nd Samuel, taken together, chronicle the transition of the nation of Israel from that of a theocracy, being led by God, to a monarchy, being led by a King. This first book will give an account of the rise of Israel's first true prophet, Samuel, and its first king, the great Saul, and his terrible end at the hands of the Philistines.
